BOXING DAY: We will be having our annual Boxing Day Sale! Watch for our sale items for some great deals. Come down to the store on December 26 and let’s work out a deal for that item you have always wanted! SIDNEY ANGLERS DERBY: The Sidney Anglers Derby will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017. Watch our Facebook page for ticket availability. ELK LAKE DERBY: We now have a date for our Annual ‘Take a Kid Fishing’ Elk Lake Derby. Saturday April 8, 2017. This derby is a fundraiser for the TLC fund for kids and it is always a blast! JUST FOR THE HALIBUT DERBY: April 22 and April 23, we will be having our Annual ‘Just for the Halibut’ fishing Derby. Last year, thanks to you, we donated over $2500 to the TLC fund for kids – Lets see if we can beat that! VICTORIA BOAT SHOW: This years boat show is held at Pearkes Recreational Centre on February 17-19, 2017. Tickets are available online at http://www.victoriaboatshow.com/boat-tickets.
RECIPE
- 2 5-oz boneless, skin-on halibut fillets
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 2 tsp lemon zest
- Juice 1/2 lemon, divided
- 1 tbsp chopped flat leaf parsley
- Pinch each sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, or to taste
- Preheat oven to 400ºF.
- In a large nonstick baking dish, add halibut skin side down and drizzle with oil.
- Top with garlic, lemon zest and 2 tbsp juice and parsley, dividing evenly. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until halibut flakes easily when tested with a fork. Drizzle with remaining lemon juice and serve.
