This year is our 22nd annual ‘Just for the Halibut’ fishing derby! It is coming up on April 21 and April 22 and the tides look great! Join us in supporting the TLC Fund for Kids by getting out fishing in this two-day Halibut derby.
1st Place – $7,500 Cash
2nd Place – $2,500 Cash
3rd Place – $1,000 Cash
We also have great fish prizes for the top 20 fish weighed in.
Thanks to our supporters, we are able to have some great draw prizes. You must be on site at the final wind up in order to win draw prizes!
Average Weight Prize:
This year, the average weight prize is a Yamaha Power Washer donated by SG Power and Yamaha. To find the average weight, we take the total weight of halibut weighed in and divide it by the total number of halibut weighed in. This is a great prize and we can’t thank Yamaha and SG Power enough for supporting our derbies year after year.
Hidden Weight Prizes:
We will be having two hidden weight prizes – each a $1000 Island Outfitters gift card. Try your luck weighing in your halibut, you never know what the hidden weights are going to be!
Catch and Release Draw Prize:
For any oversize halibut you catch, take a picture of your draw prize package (to be picked up on April 20th) with your halibut. Then, email the photo to firstname.lastname@example.org or show a derby official to be entered in the catch and release draw prize!
Don’t forget to pick up your catch and release draw prize package on Friday, April 20th in store. Each boat (not ticket holder) needs to pick one up to qualify for our draw.
Tickets are available in store for $75 per rod until Friday, April 20. As tickets are sold per rod, you can purchase more than one per person! Don’t forget to make the boat stickers that are attached to your ticket visible for our derby officials out on the water!
