Trout fishing this past week has been pretty good on the local lakes and the Cowichan River. We have done a number of drifts and everybody is having a blast catching good numbers of rainbow, brown and the odd cutthroat trout. Nymph patterns seem to be the ticket right now. The river is fairly high and is tough to fish from shore. It should continue to drop with the nice weather in the forecast! Here is a nice brown trout caught Saturday evening on a golden stonefly nymph.
